BANDS

I have performed for hundreds of events and receptions in the southeast. My extensive repertoire covers the musical spectrum from big band to high energy dance music. I can perform the entire songlist as a band, trio or duo - and most of it as a soloist. I can customize my band to larger sizes - often adding a female vocalist and other instrumentation. In addition, many of my band members are trained musicians who can perform on harp and other instruments in more formal settings. Having been a part of so many events, our experience will help ensure your event is a great success!

Neal Davenport Band

The Neal Davenport Band is a 4 piece band consisting of Keys, Drums, Guitar and Sax. This is a great choice for wedding receptions when dancing will be an important part of the evening. This band can cover most musical styles from big band to beach music to 70's rock and roll. I can upsize it by adding a vocalist, trumpet or other instruments.

Neal Davenport Trio

A trio is a great choice for gatherings of 100+ people. Trios are very versatile as they have the look of a band, can switch to dance music if needed, volume is better controlled, and are easier on the budget. My main trio consists of Keys, Guitar and Drums. It works well for most events-from light background music to dance music.

Neal Davenport Duo

Duos are a great choice when a little more music animation and visuals are needed for an event. Upright Bass and Piano creates a strong visual, is not too loud, and is a common jazz duo. Another great alternative is Piano and Vibes. It is another standard jazz duo for visual and controlled volume. Sax and Keys is a great duo for a more forefront approach. It's also a great alternative for events held outside. For those events where dancing may occur but the budget is tight, consider my Keys and Drums duo. This duo is a versatile combination. It can handle cocktails and dinner with light instrumentals and break out into dance music when I add vocals. Incidentally, vocals can be added with any combination.

Piano and Vocal

I perform many events during the year as a soloist. Piano solo is a good choice for small cocktail gatherings, receptions, and dinners. I play upbeat music with a light, jazzy feel for cocktails. Dinner music is usually a little more subdued. I generally just respond to the noise level of the crowd and the employer's request. I have a complete keyboard setup if a piano is not available. If your event is a little more animated such as a home dinner party, you may want to consider having me sing and play. This is also a good option for a "piano bar" setting.
