Wedding Ceremony Music Suggestions

Let "Adagio" provide the musical setting for your wedding ceremony. A typical performance would include 20 minutes of prelude music while guests arrive and the the actual ceremony music from bridal march to recessional. For an additional fee, have us continue providing music for your reception. Or, have us switch to The Neal Davenport Trio as your dance band!

The Wedding Ceremony

Prelude Music
*Music played 15-20 minutes prior to the wedding while guests are arriving. I will choose appropriate music from my repertoire for this segment.

Some examples follow:
  • Yesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach)
  • Spring (Vivaldi)
  • Wedding Song (Peter, Paul and Mary)
  • Water Music (Handel)
  • Minuet In G (Bach)
  • Liebestraum (Lizst)
  • Minuet (Beethoven)
  • Prelude (Chopin)
  • Close To You (Carpenters)
  • In My Life (Beatles)
Special Music
If a family member or friend is to sing a special song during the prelude music, it will be best if they provide for their own accompaniment either by tape or instrument.
Seating Of The Grandmothers/Mothers
Some brides like to have special music (mother or grandmother favorites) played for these seatings. I would personally suggest no special music as it is difficult to co-ordinate. If you do want music, please advise me ASAP.
Processional Music (Bridal Party)
*Music for groom arrival and bridal party.

Some examples follow:
  • Yesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach)
  • Spring (Vivaldi)
  • Canon In D (Pachabel)
  • Trumpet Voluntary (Handel)
Bridal March
*Bride's special march.

Some examples follow:
  • Canon In D (Pachabel)
  • Trumpet Voluntary (Handel)
  • Wedding March (Traditional)
Interlude
*Music played during the ceremony usually before a prayer or during candle lighting.

Some examples follow:
  • Sheep May Safely Graze (Bach)
  • Special Hymn
Recessional
*Music played for bride and groom exit.

Some examples follow:
  • Traditional (Mendelssohn)
  • Spring (Vivaldi)
  • Yesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach)
Wedding Rehearsals
Due to my performing schedule I am not able to accomodate rehearsals.
I co-ordinate everything with the bride by phone or email and then with the minister when I arrive prior to the ceremony.
