I have spent my entire life in music, beginning with piano lessons at age seven and serving as a church pianist and organist by age 14. Inspired by Motown, the Beatles, and country music, I began writing original songs in my early teens. Encouraged by my parents—both fellow musicians—my songs were submitted to Nashville publishers, leading to recordings by Eddy Arnold, Mel Tillis, George Hamilton IV, Billy Crash Craddock, and Jerry Wallace by the time I turned 21.

During my third year studying piano performance at George Peabody College (now part of Vanderbilt University), a career-defining opportunity arose: I was offered the position of touring pianist for country star Charley Pride. I left college to hit the road, performing across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe. Over the years, I have also shared the stage with artists such as Janie Fricke, Gary Stewart, Dave & Sugar, Randy Parton, Peter Noone, The Coasters, and The Platters, as well as the Tommy Dorsey and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestras.

Career highlights include performing for President Ronald Reagan, Luciano Pavarotti, and the Governor of North Carolina, along with appearances on national broadcasts such as The Tonight Show, Good Morning America, and The Today Show.

Since settling in the Charlotte, NC area in 1983, where my wife and I raised our five children, I have maintained a vibrant performance schedule for corporate events and receptions as a soloist and with The Neal Davenport Trio. In 1992, I launched a music production company specializing in custom audio for corporate clients, and I continue to produce, perform, and collaborate across a wide range of musical projects.
