ABOUT ME

"Without music in our hearts, we lose our soul.."

I have spent all of my life in music. I began studying the piano at age 7. By the age of 14 I was organist and pianist at my home town church. In my early teens I was a huge Beatles and Motown fan and began writing songs. After joining a square dance band, I began toying with country music song ideas. My father, also a musician and pianist, took notice and sent some of these tunes to Nashville publishing companies. By the time I turned 18 several recording artists (Eddy Arnold, Mel Tillis, George Hamilton IV, Billy Crash Craddock, Jerry Wallace and others) had recorded songs of mine.

While majoring in piano performance at George Peabody College (now part of Vanderbilt University) I took a job with country music star Charley Pride, performing concerts and TV shows throughout the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe. I also performed with other artists such as Dave and Sugar, Gary Stewart, Janie Fricke and Randy Parton.

I settled in Charlotte in 1983. My wife and I raised 5 children together. I perform at receptions and corporate events throughout the region each year. I have performed with such groups as The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Harry Connick, Sr. with The Chris Riddle Orchestra, The Coasters, The Platters, The Don Edwards Orchestra, Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits), and countless other groups. I have played piano at receptions for Pavarotti, the governor of North Carolina and have been involved in musical extravaganzas attended by President Reagan and most members of Congress. I have had the privilege to perform with other artists on numerous TV shows such as The Tonight Show, The Dinah Shore Show, Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Bob Hope Show, Phil Donahue, and others. In 1992 I began a music company that creates music for use in corporate video and audio production and am always involved in several music projects.
